- Amsterdam
- Hong Kong
- somewhere in southern China, probably Hangzhou or Xiamen or Kunming
- Boston (I loved it this summer... it has Geneva vibes because of the European-ish architecture and it honestly feels pretty small? but is 2000% less boring)
- Iowa City (OK this sounds like a joke but if I could get into the Iowa Writers' Workshop... wouldn't that be so cool? It's probably never gonna happen because I'm not that good a writer and it's not even my main passion... or is it? Never know till you apply. Obviously I'd never move to Iowa if it wasn't for the best writing MFA program. Or maybe I would. I'm curious.)
- New York
- a midsize city in California, like a San/ta Something
- Tangier
- Singapore
- Seoul
- Prague
I don't think it's that hard to live a, I guess, #jetsetting life like this. I'm hoping my university degrees (which I will hopefully be accumulating faster than a thermometer, though, let's face it, who has that kind of money?) will be able to take me to a few of these places. And if you're able to find a job before you move... especially if I'll be moving into the art world, it won't be so hard for me. But I think in my 40s I'd probably come back to Geneva. It's a nice peaceful place to live. I don't blame all the people who run off to live in anonymity along the Léman, whether it's because they're criminals or pursued by an evil corporation. At the end of the day Switzerland is a perfect place to rest your feet after a long day. Geneva or some other ville suisse romande in your middle age, but somewhere rural to die. Green fields and landscapes we take for granted. Those yellow hiking signs. Low rock walls. Painting prolifically, probably. My ashes in the land of peace.
